Dormeshia Sumbry-Edwards was nominated for best actress for the film "The Rise and Fall of Miss Thang" (lead) and has also appeared in “TAP” with Gregory Hines, Spike Lee's “Bamboozled” (Assistant Choreographer), and “The Rodgers and Hart Story: Thou Swell, Thou Witty”. She serves on the Tap Advisory Board for Dance Magazine, as a Capezio spokesperson/sponsored athlete, and was the private tap instructor to Michael Jackson (11 years). Performances include Broadway shows "Black and Blue", "Bring In Da’Noise", "Bring In Da’Funk", "Imagine Tap!" (lead), and "Wild Woman Blues" (national tour). Choreography includes The Cotton Club "Sophisticated Ladies", Michael Jackson's “Rock My World”, and "Tops" (commercial). She was featured on MTV’s series "MADE" and as a representative for the USA on Superstars of Dance (NBC).
