By Deborah Searle of Dance Informa.
Where have you performed recently?
“In recent months I’ve been focusing on choreographic projects, but I have still managed to fit in a couple of little performances. I fronted a big tap number at the London Palladium, during a gala performance of 42nd Street. I also danced with the John Wilson Orchestra at the Royal Albert Hall, which was very special. They were both experiences to remember!”
Tell us about your choreographic projects
I am very passionate about choreography now and I’ve been lucky enough to do some great projects. I worked on the dance film, All Stars 3D, which was fun and Bollywood Carmen Live for the BBC. Theatre is my first love and I have a couple of great projects coming up in the near future.
What’s keeping you busy in the near future?
For the next three weeks I am focusing on my events company - Can You Dance?. We have two events: Nottingham and Leeds. We bring the best of dance and performing arts to the areas. Our last event in Norwich saw 750 dance lovers attend and it was a brilliant day! Also, Strictly will be starting again soon, so work will begin on that!
What are your plans for the next year?
I plan to do more of the same. I am so thankful for the launch pad that So You Think You Can Dance gave me - I am in love with my work and I can’t get enough!
Can dancers take classes from you?
At the moment I’m not teaching regular classes at a studio. I do guest teach a lot at most of London’s performing arts colleges. Also, I do a lot of traveling with my master class company Happy Feet Productions.
