“Bodytorque” showcases Australia’s top emerging choreographers
Five choreographers have been selected to create works with dancers of The Australian Ballet for Bodytorque, a program known for artfully combining cutting-edge dance, design, music and fashion.
For the first time this year, Bodytorque will come to Melbourne for three exclusive shows on June 17, 18 and 24 at Arts Centre Melbourne. The last nine years the program has been presented in Sydney.
Choreographers will each produce a work inspired by the theme of “DNA.” This year’s chosen choreographers include: former Sydney Dance Company dancer Richard Cilli, former Australian Ballet Principal Joshua Consandine, new Australian Ballet Resident Choreographer Tim Harbour, current Corps de Ballet dancer Richard House, and former Royal New Zealand Ballet and Australian Ballet dancer Alice Topp.
