San Francisco Ballet begins 81st season

San Francisco Ballet, one of the oldest and most revered professional ballet companies in America, will open its 81st season with the holiday classic The Nutcracker, running December 11-29 for a total of 31 performances. 

The performance schedule for the company's 81st season will go on include three world premieres and the presentation of two full-length works, including the revival of Helgi Tomasson’s Giselle and the encore presentation of Christopher Wheeldon’s Cinderella.

Various dance works created by modern day choreographers such as Alexei Ratmansky, Val Caniparoli, Liam Scarlett, Wayne McGregor and Mark Morris will be presented, as well as the timeless choreography of George Balanchine, Jerome Robbins and Natalia Makarova.
