John Waters' 1988 film Hairspray will be screened in Grand Park in Los Angeles on Friday, June 21 in recognition of the cult classic’s 25th anniversary.

Co-presented by the Los Angeles Film Festival and Dance Camera West, the free event will also include dance lessons led by LA-based Contra-Tiempo. Officials encourage guests to wear their best poodle skirt, show-off their puffiest bouffant and bring their most outrageous 60's moves.

Set in 1962, Hairspray is about a self-proclaimed "pleasantly plump" teenager, Tracy Turnblad, that pursues stardom as a dancer on a local TV show.
